Freemasonry is open to men of good reputation and from any race, creed or\u00a0religion and have a belief in a Supreme Being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Freemasonry is not, now, or has ever been a religion, or even a substitute for religion. Each candidate for Freemasonry is exhorted to practice his religion and to regard his holy book as the unerring standard of truth. Freemasonry does not instruct its members in what their religious beliefs should be, nor does it offer sacraments.\u00a0Thus Freemasonry brings men from different faiths and beliefs together in a unique way to share a happy and rewarding friendship together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Freemasonry teaches moral lessons and self knowledge, through participation in a progression of allegorical two part plays, which&nbsp;are learnt by heart and performed within all Lodges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From its earliest days Freemasonry has been involved in charitable work. Since its inception, it has provided support for many widows and orphans of Freemasons, as well as many others within its community.
